The National Horse Show and
Others
To provide an
opportunity for competitive horses from all across the United
States to compete in year-end championship finals, the National
Horse Show Association of America holds the National Horse show at
Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Florida.
No matter what
type of competition or where the horse is from or wherever one
wishes to compete, the National Horse Show offers a venue to
display the horse’s talents against the very best in equestrian
competition and that too in the presence of thousands of
appreciative spectators. The aim is to advance excellence in
horsemanship and get the public more interested in as well as
better educated about the diversity in equestrian sport.
Olympia London International Horse
Show
There is also the
Olympia London International Horse Show that takes place in London,
England during the month of December and this is a world famous
horse show where the very best compete in activities that include
show jumping and dressage as well as displays. There is sure to be
amazing sporting action here at Olympia and visitors will be
enthralled by the sight of their favorite horses competing against
each other.
The show jumping
is divided into classes including the Show’s most famous and
exciting class called the DEI Jumping World Cup Qualifier, the
Accenture Christmas Puissance and the Olympia Grand Prix. There is
also the Mitsubishi Ride and Drive competition where the
competitors need to jump the course, swap their horses for a car
drive in a course of cones being clocked and this takes place four
times during the show. The FEI Dressage World Cup Qualifier was
introduced by Olympia in 2004 and has now become a permanent as
well as immensely successful fixture of the Olympia Horse Show and
is sponsored by The Berkeley Group Plc and is supported by the
Horse & Hound magazine.
Another great
horse show is the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona’s Annual
Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show that has set the pace in the world of
the Arabian horse. The first show was held in 1955 at the grounds
of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel and has been a top class show from
its very inception. A win at Scottsdale is sure to bring in a pile
of money to the winner and is sponsored by the Arabian Horse
Association of Arizona which was also incorporated in
1955.
